What will the course involve?

Training to professional standard in:

Aromatherapy using essential oils
Acupressure
Holistic massage
Indian Head Massage
Lymphatic drainage and wellness experiences
Making recommendations to clients
Business effectiveness
Providing safe working environments

Entry requirements

Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification
A keen interest in beauty and want to work with people
You must meet deadlines and be committed to your work and study
Preferred GCSE maths and English grade 4+/C grade. If you do not hold a grade 4 or C in English and/or maths you will be required to study Functional Skills as part of the course.
You must have an apprenticeship or wish to secure one

Equipment

You will need a kit and must wear a smart uniform which we will explain at interview.

Assessment

Practical assessment on clients and online tests
End Point Exam and Assessment Day which is graded pass or distinction
You will complete some assignments and may need to sit online exams for Functional Skills

General comments

You must have professional values and behaviours and have excellent attendance.

What will the course lead to?

As a Wellbeing and Holistic Therapist you might work in a Spa, Leisure, Holistic or Wellness Therapy centre, Medi-spa and Beauty salon. Another option is to work on cruise liners or further qualifications could lead to teaching/assessing and onto a degree or self-employment.

Beauty Therapy Case Study

Maxine Smart

Studied Level 2 Beauty Therapy including nails at The Academy. She studied a range of courses and now has her own business in Scarborough. Nails is her specialism, she does amazing personal designs and detailed nail art. Maxine enjoyed her time at The Academy, she feels the courses gave her the skills to be successful.
